Vision on care

Living

Each resident lives as independently as possible in their own apartment. The apartment is a safe, familiar and homely place where the resident feels at home.

In addition to their own living space, there are communal areas where residents can meet each other, undertake activities together or just have fun. Participation in joint activities is always voluntary. Each resident decides how much he or she wants to use the communal facilities.

We believe it is important that there is a warm, homely atmosphere in which everyone feels welcome. Respect for each other is central. There is no room for negative group formation, exclusion or bullying.

Guidance

Our guidance is tailored to the possibilities, wishes and development opportunities of every resident. Residents are approached in a respectful and equal manner, appropriate to their level of development.

We work based on the following principles:

- Everything you can do yourself, you do yourself.

-You learn everything you can learn yourself.

- Anything you cannot do, you will receive appropriate support.

Supervisors show genuine interest in the residents, their work or daytime activities, hobbies, social contacts and free time. They support residents in making choices and encourage them to actively participate in daily life.

Activities are regularly organized within and outside the housing initiative. Residents are encouraged to participate, but participation is never mandatory. If a resident has difficulty finding a free day or free time, the guidance offers appropriate support.

Collaboration with residents and parents

Good care is created through collaboration. That is why we believe open, honest and transparent communication between residents, guidance and parents or legal representatives is essential.

The resident is always central. Decisions are made together as much as possible, with the wishes, needs and possibilities of the resident leading.

Parents and legal representatives are important discussion partners. Their signals, experiences and concerns are taken seriously and included in the support.

Personal plan

Every resident has a personal support plan. This plan is drawn up and regularly evaluated based on cooperation between the resident, the guidance and the parent(s) or legal representative(s).
In the personal plan, agreements are recorded about the goals, support and development of the resident. The resident has, as far as possible, an active voice and control in this.

Daytime activities and work

We believe it is important that every resident, as far as possible, participates in work or appropriate daytime activities. This contributes to structure, personal development, self-esteem and social participation.

In addition, it strengthens mutual solidarity when residents can share experiences about their work or daytime activities with each other.

We do not apply a minimum number of hours or days. We do strive to ensure that every resident participates at the level and to the extent that is feasible and appropriate for him or her.

Participation

Residents have influence on their own lives and on the living environment. Where possible, they are actively involved in matters relating to the housing initiative, such as the shared living environment, house rules and activities.

In addition, residents, together with their parents or legal representatives and guidance, think and decide on the agreements relating to their personal support.
